What is Medical Aesthetics?

Medical aesthetics is a field of healthcare that aims to improve a person's appearance using medical methods and technologies. In this area, various minimally invasive procedures such as skin resurfacing, wrinkle removal, filler applications, laser treatments and similar procedures are performed. Medical aesthetics aims to give the person a young and healthy appearance with non-surgical solutions. These methods are usually performed by a dermatologist or medical aesthetician.

How is Medical Aesthetics Done?

Medical aesthetic applications are generally performed in an office or clinic environment and often do not require anesthesia or local anesthesia is used. Applications are personalized according to the patient's skin type, age, needs and expectations. Common medical aesthetic procedures include:

  • Botox: Temporary reduction of wrinkles with botulinum toxin applied to the facial muscles.
  • Filling Applications: Clarifying facial lines and eliminating volume losses by using fillers such as hyaluronic acid.
  • Laser Treatments: Laser technologies are used for skin rejuvenation, spot treatment and reducing the appearance of capillaries.
  • Chemical Peeling: Chemical substances are applied to equalize skin tone and reduce fine wrinkles and blemishes by peeling the upper layer of the skin.
  • PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma): The use of plasma obtained from one's own blood for skin rejuvenation and hair loss treatment.
