What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a health science aimed at diagnosing, treating and rehabilitating disorders in various body systems such as the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, circulatory system and respiratory system.
How is Physiotherapy Done?
The physiotherapy process begins with a comprehensive assessment, usually conducted by a physiotherapist. This evaluation is based on the patient's medical history, complaints, and physical examination. The physiotherapist prepares a treatment plan appropriate to the patient's needs. The treatment plan is personalized based on the patient's condition and goals and usually includes the following methods:
Exercise Therapy: Strengthening muscles, increasing flexibility and improving general physical condition through strengthening, stretching and balance exercises.
Manual Therapy: Relieving muscle and joint pain with massage, mobilization and manipulation techniques.
Electrotherapy: Providing pain control and improving muscle functions using electrical stimulation methods.
Hydrotherapy: Relieving joint and muscle pain using water therapy, especially used in patients with joint diseases.
