What is Pain?

Pain is an unpleasant sensation that originates from any part of the body and encompasses all past experiences of a person, whether due to an organic cause or not. Today, pain is examined in two groups. First; It is acute pain that is a sign of various diseases. It is often a sign of existing tissue damage in the body. Acute pain is an important part of the body's alarm system. The second group of pains is chronic (ongoing) pain. Chronic pain is pain that lasts longer than 6 months (3 months in some cases) and is no longer an alarm system. Chronic pain is not a sign of disease, it is the problem itself.

The patient with pain should be evaluated in detail using all medical facilities, and when necessary, various laboratory tests and radiological examinations should be performed. Studies have revealed that more than 90% of all types of pain can be relieved with the right painkillers. In cases where painkillers are not effective and sufficient, physical therapy methods, surgical operations or interventional pain treatment methods are applied in pain treatment centers, depending on the source of the pain. At this point, the correct approach is to determine the most appropriate treatment method for the patient and ensure that the patient reaches the correct treatment without wasting time.
